2016 Schwinn Tango Tandem

Take a friend with you and cruise in style on Schwinn's aluminum Tango Tandem. It's easy to get up and go with the 7-speed drivetrain and aluminum wheels. The upright cruiser handlebars and the soft, padded cruiser seats provide a comfortable ride for you and your partner. Plus, this great tandem has fenders, integrated cup holders, and a built-in bottle opener, too.

      Comments:

This bike looks great and is a blast to ride. It is a heavy steel frame bike (the 2011 Tango is aluminum), sports low quality components, and throws a chain now and then. My wife and I use it around the neighborhood, on shorter community rides and paved rail trails. A nice recreational cruiser.

      Comments:

This Christmas, I ordered one in red to match my wife's red '72 Schwinn Breeze. We awaited the warm weather and headed down the hill to the West Haven boardwalk, with a toddler-filled trailer hooked up. The four of us had a blast. We got the most smiles per mile I've ever had on a ride or stroll. I'm 6'4" with all my height in my legs, and have been comfortable and happy on our weekend jaunts. My wife at 5'9" felt that her seat was a little low, but I still have not fully raised that post. We haven't had it out with out the kids in tow, so I can't report on hill climbing as we haven't even tried. It's just not geared for that-- our boys are pretty big! We also have not had it beyond second gear. It's stable and my relatively novice wife has felt more confident on it than a rental we once got. The only down side are some corners that have been cut to shave the price down. The gears are shimano, I think, which is cool, but a few of the bits are a little cheap, the seat post clamps in particular-- they remind me of that sort of K Mart Huffy feel... but the frame, wheels, shifters, brakes, gears, and deraillieurs are all of a decent, if inexpensive quality. It's a simple bike. On the whole, it's a bargain and has already proven a worthwhile purchase, even for my penny pinching young family. Enjoy it!
