Ignaz Schwinn revolutionized cycling in the early days!
Ignaz Schwinn, with his partner Adolph Arnold, incorporated "Arnold, Schwinn & Company" on October 22, 1895. Within only a few short years, the company became an acknowledged technical and quality leader of the bicycle industry. In fact, after just a year in business, Schwinn bikes had more race victories than any other bike company at the time.

Innovation has always been part of Schwinn's plan. Ideas like balloon tires were introduced in 1933 and soon became the standard of the industry. In 1934, Schwinn's Aerocycle hit the streets rescuing a declining bicycle market. Styled to resemble the streamlined motorcycles, A decal from Schwinn's collectible Aerocycle!automobiles and airplanes of the day, it sported balloon tires and deluxe features, such as a sprung leather seat, tank, fenders and built-in light and horn. That slick look would set the trend of rides well into the 50's. It was so popular in fact, that the likes of Ronald Reagan, Bob Hope and Bing Crosby would proudly show off their Schwinns.

Today, as Schwinn pedals into its second century, they continue to produce innovative, cutting-edge designs and technological marvels like their super-light carbon road bikes, their plush and smooth comfort bikes, their cruisers that resemble famous Schwinns of old except for all the modern features, and their terrain taming suspension mountain bikes.
