Brooks B17 Standard

    Comments:

I was hesitant to spend $100+ on a saddle, but my butt has thanked me. It takes awhile to break-in, but no more than a few hundred miles. There are all sorts of ways I've read to speed up the process, but I went the honest route. Other than the comfort the saddle classes up pretty much any bike - they're great looking. Oh and they're handmade in England, I can always justify spending a little more on something that isn't plunked out of a machine.

There's a reason Brooks saddles have been around forever: they're awesome. While not perfect for every use once they're broken in I believe they're the finest saddle you could ask for for most utilitarian purposes and they have a great classic look, which doesn't hurt.

        Comments:

I got tired of riding gel seats that tear and wear out in just a few months,so I tried Brooks and will never use anything else. I have two sprung Brooks that feel good, but the B17's instant comfort is incredible! Somehow, they got the shape just right on this model 100 years ago, and never needed to change it.I'm not kidding;with the B17, the only thing you think about when you're riding is how you don't have to think about your rear any more.

          Comments:

This is the 5th Brooks saddle I've owned, and like all Brooks saddles, this saddle has a requisite 'adjustment' period. Once the break-in period is passed though, I don't think I've ever had a more comfortable saddle. I'll be placing an order for the Team Professional this week, so that will be my 6th.

            Comments:

I was using a 30 year old Team Professional someone gave me on my commuter bike but it was too hard. I just put a brand new B17 on that bike, and WOW! What a difference! I've only ridden two days on it already feels like I got off the picnic bench and sat on the suffed sofa!I can hardly wait to see how it feels after it is broken in!
